Motorola's Moto Body app for Android released into Google Play

With the launch of its new Moto 360 hardware, Motorola showed a focus on fitness with the Moto 360 Sport. Now Motorola is taking things a step further with a dedicated activity app.

Moto Body is now available from the Google Play Store. The app will let you view all of the activity data gathered by your smartwatch on your smartphone’s larger screen. The data shown by Moto Body includes Heart Activity, steps taken, calories burned, and more. It can show this data in graphs to help you view your progress over time, and Motorola says that its new app also offers tips and “helpful articles.”

Moto Body used to be baked into Motorola Connect, an app that helps you connect your phone to accessories like the Moto 360 and Motorola Keylink. Now Moto Body has been ripped out of Connect and given its own dedicated app, which is a nice move by Motorola because it makes it much easier for users to view their activity.

Speaking of Motorola Connect, that app has gotten a notable update that adds support for the new Moto 360. Also included is a refreshed user interface that Motorola says is “more intuitive and easier to navigate,” as well as some unspecified bug fixes.
