[UPDATED] Apple’s 12.9-inch iPad Pro official

It’s a great day (hopefully) to be a fan of Apple products, and along with a slew of other announcements to surface from Apple’s live keynote today, we bring you the official news of Apple’s latest (and largest) iPad.

Apple has officially unveiled a new iPad during their keynote, the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro. The new iPad Pro is a new premium product from Apple that differs greatly from the previous 9.7-inch iPad and iPad Air models.

Aside from its larger size, the iPad Pro features the new Apple A9X 64-bit processor, which is two times faster than the previous generation A8X processor. The new iPad also features a rich 2732 x 2048 resolution display, a reported 10 hours of battery life, and a new enhanced 4-speaker audio system. Two new accessories have also been announced to work specifically with the iPad Pro, a attachable Smart Keyboard and the new stylus called the Apple Pencil.

Update: In addition to the size, resolution, processor, battery life, and new speaker system, the Apple iPad Pro also features a rear-facing 8-megapixel iSight camera, Touch ID, 802.11 ac with MIMO, and 150 Mbps LTE speeds in the cellular capable iPad Pro model.

Apple had presentations from big companies like Adobe, 3D4Medical, and even Microsoft to show how well the iPad Pro could handle multitasking for productivity, creativity, and health-related tasks.

The new iPad will come in Silver, Gold, and Space Gray colors.

As for pricing, the iPad Pro will start at $799 for the starting 32GB model, $949 for the 128GB model, and $1079 for the 128GB model with cellular connectivity. The new Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard will be sold separately from the iPad Pro, with the Apple Pencil being priced at $99, and the Smart Keyboard priced at $169. Although there was no specific date specified for the release of the new iPad Pro, you can expect to see the new iPad hit shelves this November.
