Microsoft's Cityman, Talkman flagship phones revealed in leaked images

It’s been a long while since Windows fans had a new flagship smartphone, but that’s expected to change in the coming months. And today we’re getting a clear look at those upcoming handsets thanks to a new leak.

Evan Blass has shared official-looking press images of the Cityman (above) and Talkman (below), Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 10 Mobile flagships. The two phones look somewhat similar, offering virtual navigation buttons, dedicated camera keys, and rear cameras with humps.

There are some design differences between the two phones, like the Cityman’s volume and power buttons that are located at the center of the phone’s side while the Talkman’s volume rocker is closer to the top of the phone. That difference is likely due to the Cityman’s larger screen, which reportedly measures 5.7 inches, compared to the Talkman’s 5.2-inch screen.

While the screen sizes of these two phones differ, they’re said to share the same display resolution of 2560x1440. Other specs of the Cityman and Talkman allegedly include 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, 20-megapixel PureView rear cameras, 5-megapixel front-facing cameras, USB Type-C ports, and Qi wireless charging. Finally, the Cityman is reportedly going to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 3300mAh battery, while the Talkman will have a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 and 3000mAh battery.

It’s been more than a year since the last Windows flagship phone was announced, but with the Cityman and Talkman, it looks like that long wait will finally pay off. The two phones look like solid flagship handsets, and they ought to please anyone that’s stuck with Windows through the flagship drought. Whether or not they’ll be enough to attract newcomers to the platform remains to be seen, though.
