Chrome Beta hits version 45, brings Chrome Custom Tabs and more

If you’re currently running the Chrome Beta for Android browser, you’d best head into the Google Play Store, because there’s a update rolling out with some new features that you may want to check out.

Google says that Chrome Beta 45 (version 45.0.2454.21) is now rolling out with several new features and bug fixes. One of the new goodies is Chrome Custom Tabs, which Google explained earlier this year as a way developers to offer a better experience when transitioning you from an app to some web content. For example, Chrome Custom Tabs let an app change the toolbar color and transition animations, add custom actions to the toolbar and overflow menu, and let you skip logging in to a site that you’re already connected to or re-granting any permissions.

Here’s the full list of goodies that are included with Chrome Beta 45 for Android:

  • Chrome Custom Tabs
  • Updated media playback controls
  • Updated Bookmarks interface
  • Better logging for feedback reports
  • Barrels of bug fixes and performance improvements

Google says that the Chrome Beta 45 for Android update will be rolling out to Google Play in the next few hours. If you’d rather not wait, though, you can hit up APK Mirror and sideload it right now.
