ZTE Axon Pro now available in blue, gold, and silver color options

After teasing the Axon Pro in June and then introducing it in July, ZTE has kicked off August by officially launching its new high-end Android phone.

You can now buy the ZTE Axon Pro from ZTE’s own online shop, or if you’d prefer, you can also get it from Amazon, Newegg, and eBay. The Axon Pro is available in Phthalo Blue, Ion Gold, and Chromium Silver color options, but no matter which hue you choose, you’ll pony up $449.98 for the device. Here’s what you’ll get in exchange for your hard-earned dollars:

  • 5.5-inch 2560x1440 display
  • 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor
  • 13-megapixel rear camera with second 2-megapixel lens for quick auto focus and changing the focus of an image after you capture it
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • 32GB of storage
  • 4GB of RAM
  • Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0
  • 3000mAh battery
  • 4G LTE bands 2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/29/30
  • Android 5.1.1

There are two other goodies included with the Axon Pro that are worth noting. The first is a set of JBL E-13 headphones, which normally cost $50, and the second is the Axon Passport two-year warranty. The Axon Passport protects against defects and includes a Premium Protection Plan that covers things like drops, “minimal liquid exposure,” and more. If you need to replace your Axon Pro with the protection plan, you only need to pony up a $79.99 deductible.

ZTE isn’t typically associated with competitive, flagship Android phones in the US, but the company is hoping to change that with the Axon Pro. So far it look like a pretty nice Android handset that’s competitive with similar affordable flagships like the upcoming Moto X Style/Pure Edition and OnePlus 2. And because the Axon Pro includes wide LTE support, it’ll play nicely with both AT&T and T-Mobile in the US.

Now that it’s available, are any of you going to pull the trigger on a ZTE Axon Pro?
