New Samsung Galaxy A8 leak shows the unannounced Android phone on video

Earlier this month, some images leaked out that gave us an early preview of the Galaxy A8, a super-thin Android phone from Samsung. But you know what’s better than photos? Video.

A hands-on video that appears to show off the Samsung Galaxy A8 has made its way online. The Galaxy A8 portion of the video is nearly three minutes long and shows off the Galaxy A8 hardware from all angles, giving us a better look at the phone’s 6.8mm-thick shell. The clip also shows off the A8’s software, which is Android 5.1.1 beneath Samsung’s custom TouchWiz user interface.

As a quick refresher, the Galaxy A8 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch 1920x1080 display, octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and a fingerprint sensor. It’s not known how much the Galaxy A8 will cost when it launches, but given its mid-range spec list, it shouldn’t be too hard on the wallet. If that’s the case, the A8 with its large screen and thin body could be an interesting option for folks shopping for an affordable handset.
