Android 5.1.1 hitting T-Mobile Galaxy S5, international S6 and S6 edge

It’s always good to start a week with some big Android OS updates, and today I’ve got three of ‘em to tell you about.

First up, T-Mobile has started pushing Android 5.1.1 to its version of the Samsung Galaxy S5. Details on the update are light because T-Mo hasn’t posted the changelog quite yet, but if you’re rocking a GS5 on T-Mobile, you can try to find out for yourself by heading into Settings > About device > Software update > Ok to manually pull the update down.

Both the international Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are getting Android 5.1.1 as well. To be specific, these are the SM-G920F and SM-G925F variants of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, respectively. Right now it looks like the updates are seeding to select countries in Europe, but they should start hitting other regions in the coming weeks.

Android 5.1.1 is the very latest version of Google’s mobile OS that’s available to the public, and so it’s nice to see it rolling out to more devices. It’s especially awesome to see the update hitting T-Mobile’s Galaxy S5 so soon, well before newer flagship phones from other manufacturers.

Do you have Android 5.1.1 on any of your devices yet?
