T-Mobile Xperia Z3's Android 5.0 update will start rolling out tomorrow [UPDATED]

UPDATE: T-Mobile has shared more details of the Xperia Z3's update. It'll bump the Xperia Z3 up to Android 5.0.2, build 23.0.D.1.123, and it includes Band 12 LTE support, VoLTE improvements, and better device stability. The update weighs in at 636.6MB and can be downloaded over the air or using Sony's PC Companion.

After entering carrier testing nearly one month ago, it looks the T-Mobile Xperia Z3’s Lollipop update is ready to go.

T-Mobile’s Des Smith says that the Android 5.0 update for the Sony Xperia Z3 should start rolling out after 12:00 am PT, which would be 3:00 am ET. In addition to Lollipop, Smith says that the update includes support for T-Mobile’s Band 12 LTE, giving Z3 owners some added LTE goodness.

Since the Xperia Z3 is currently Sony’s flagship smartphone, at least until the Z4/Z3+ actually launch, it’s not surprising to see Android 5.0 making its way to the T-Mobile variant of the device. It’s always exciting to see that your phone will soon be getting a major software update, though, and so I’m betting that a lot of T-Mobile Xperia Z3 folk are looking forward to this week’s hump day.

If you’ve got a T-Mobile-branded Xperia Z3, you can check for this update by going into Settings > About phone > Software update.
