LG G4 starting its global rollout this week

After making its debut last month, the LG G4 is officially entering market.

LG has announced that the G4 is launch to “key markets” this week. The flagship Android phone will make its debut in Hong Kong and will then hit Turkey, Russia, and Singapore. LG says that the G4 will travel into “most of Europe, CIS, Southeast Asia, Middle East/Africa, and South/Central America.” In all, around 180 carriers and retailers are signed on to offer the G4.

As a quick refresher, the G4 runs Android 5.1 on a 5.5-inch 2560x1440 IPS Quantum display. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a removable 3000mAh battery. The G4’s other specs include 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. There’s also a 16-megapixel camera round back with an f/2.4 aperture, Laser Auto Focus, optical image stabilization, and a Color Spectrum Sensor that LG says can recognize colors and objects.

LG has also thrown several special software features into the G4. Those include a manual mode for the camera, Quick Shot for taking quick photos using just the rear volume down button, and Smart Bulletin, which gathers notifications from multiple apps and displays them on a single page.

The LG G4 definitely has the makings of a flagship smartphone, with an impressive camera and a high-res display. Along with its high-end specs, LG has thrown in a removable battery and microSD slot, two features that are becoming increasingly rare in the smartphone world.

It’s worth noting that while the LG G4 is starting its rollout this week, some folks will have to wait a while before htey can get their hands on the leather-backed G4. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Veriozn, and U.S. Cellular have all signed on to offer the G4 in the U.S., but so far all we know is that Sprint and U.S. Cellular will sell the G4 sometime in June.

Are you thinking about picking up the LG G4?
