The Nexus 9’s Android 5.1 update may not be far off, but apparently Google is going to push a different update to the N9 before it sends out 5.1.
Nexus 9 owners are reporting that they’re now receiving an update to Android 5.0.2. The update is a small one, weighing in at just 23.3MB, and so because of its size and the fact that the N9 is moving from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2, this is likely a smaller bux-fixing update.
Now that Android 5.1 has rolled out to just about every Nexus device except the Nexus 9, I’m betting that most N9 owners are getting pretty desperate for an update. And they’re probably feeling a bit trolled by Google with this update. An update to 5.0.2 is better than no update, though, right? Here’s to hoping that Android 5.1 isn’t too far behind.
