Twitter axes Discover and Activity tabs in Android and iOS apps, adds Trends section

If you use the official Twitter app on Android or iOS, you’re likely going to notice something a bit different about the app and its sections today.

Twitter is axing the Discover and Activity tabs that’ve been included with its official Android and iOS apps for a while now. And in the process of swapping those tabs out, Twitter is adding a new section that’s will explain what’s trending on the service. This trends section can be found in the Search portion of the Twitter app.

These changes look like they’re aimed at making the official Twitter app a bit less cluttered, and so far I’d say that it works. What’s interesting about these changes is that Twitter doesn’t have to push an update to its apps through Google Play and the App Store; the changes are just appearing in your app when you load it up. If you’ve got the official Twitter app on your phone, launch it and see if the changes are in place!
