Motorola Migrate app update brings Material Design makeover

I often talk about how great it is when Android device makers release their apps into Google Play because it lets them update those apps whenever they want, meaning that their users can get new features more frequently. Now Motorola is proving my point with an update to one of its unique apps.

An update to Motorola Migrate is rolling out that brings with it Android 5.0 Material Design changes, which ought to make it fit in nicely with Motorola phones running Lollipop. The full changelog for the update looks like this:

  • Android: Contacts transfer from old phone’s memory to new phone’s memory
  • iOS: Support iCloud Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop material design changes
  • Non-smartphone: Contact transfers for Motorola TracPhone w418, w419 and Motorola iDEN i296, i418, i420, i460,i475,i485, i485w
  • Bug fixes

Motorola Migrate may not be an app that gets used on a regular basis, but it’s still nice to see Motorola give it a Material Design makeover. Now if someone picks up a Moto X, Moto G, DROID Turbo, or some other Motorola device that’s running Lollipop out of the box, the Motorola Migrate app will look right at home.
