T-Mobile says Simply Prepaid plans won't replace current Simple Choice prepaid offerings

Earlier today, T-Mobile announced some new Simply Prepaid plans that include unlimited talk, text, and data with varying allotments of high-speed data. If you prefer T-Mo’s existing Simple Choice prepaid plans to those new ones, well, I’ve got some good news for you.

A T-Mobile spokesperson has confirmed to Android Central that when the Simply Prepaid plans launch on January 25, they’ll be available alongside the current Simple Choice prepaid plans rather than replace them. That includes T-Mo’s $30 plan that offers 100 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited data with 5GB of high-speed data.

While it may seem strange that T-Mobile is keeping all of these prepaid plans, there are some differences between Simple Choice and Simply Prepaid that are worth noting. For example, the older Simple Choice plans include unlimited music streaming and mobile hotspot. Plus, the new Simply Prepaid plans have a max speed of 8Mbps.

Hopefully T-Mobile will have an easy way for consumers to understand all of this different prepaid plans when Simply Prepaid goes live on January 25. Until then, we enthusiasts can be happy that the Simple Choice prepaid offerings are sticking around.
