Samsung has outed several Galaxy S5 variants so far in 2014, including the S5 Active, S5 LTE-A, S5 Sport and S5 mini. Now we’ve got one more to add to the list.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has been revealed on Samsung’s Dutch website. The device has a design that’s similar to the regular Galaxy S5, but it boasts one significant upgrade: a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor rather than the quad-core Snapdragon 801 chip that’s found in the original S5.
Outside of that change, the Galaxy S5 Plus’s spec list looks similar to the GS5’s:
- 5.1-inch 1920x1080 Super AMOLED display
- 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor
- 2GB of RM
- 16GB of storage
- microSD card slot
- 16-megapixel rear, 2-megapixel front cameras
- NFC
- 4G LTE
- 2800mAh battery
- Android 4.4 KitKat
While the Snapdragon 801-powered Galaxy S5 likely performs perfectly fine for most folks, I’m sure that there are some spec hounds that’d like the Snapdragon 805-equipped GS5 Plus, especially since it offers a chip like the one that’s in the Note 4 but with a significantly smaller screen. Unfortunately, there’s no word on when or where the GS5 Plus will be released.
