Moto Voice updated with support for original Moto X and current Droid lineup

Motorola confirmed earlier this month that the new software features found on the Moto X (2014) would be made available to existing Motorola users as long as the hardware permitted. Today that process began with Moto Voice.

An update to Moto Voice — the app formerly known as Touchless Control — is now rolling out to the original Moto X as well as the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini. Here’s the changelog that popped up on my original Moto X:

  • Support for Moto 360. When Moto 360 is active, only your watch will respond to your voice.
  • Supported on: Droid Ultra, Droid Mini, Droid Maxx, Moto X (1st generation)
  • Compatible only with Android 4.4 KitKat

Yeah, there doesn’t really appear to be anything new for owners of existing Motorola devices in this update. This is likely just laying the groundwork for new Moto Voice features to hit existing devices in the future. That may be kind of a bummer to Droid and first gen Moto X users, but hey, at least you know that you’re in the process of getting some new goodies.
