Google Play Music, Google Search Android apps receive updates

It’s update Wednesday, Android fans! So far there have been two apps taking part in the celebration: Google Play Music and Google Search.

First up, Google Play Music has been bumped up to version 5.6.1616 and has undergone a few significant tweaks in the process. Included in the update is a refreshed 3x1 widget as well as a new 1x1 “I’m feeling lucky” widget that gives you quick access to some tunes that Google thinks that you’ll dig.

This update also makes it easier to manage your music. You can now view a “Manage downloads” section to see what’s been downloaded and how much space you’ve got available, a undo option for songs that you’ve swiped away and support for long-pressing tunes to move them around in your playlist.

Google Search has also been updated today. The new version is 3.6.13, but unfortunately it’s not yet clear exactly what this new version does.

While these app updates may not be earth-shaking, it’s still good to see Google stick to tradition and give Android users some updates to get excited about in the middle of the week. If you haven’t yet snagged the new Google Music and Google Search apps, you can check for the updates on your device or go directly to the apps’ Play Store entries using the links below.
