Google is apparently doing some summer cleaning in the Play Store, as the company has removed a number of Google Play edition devices from its virtual shelves.
As noted by Droid-Life, Google has removed the Sony Z Ultra, HTC One (M7) and LG G Pad 8.3 from the Play Store. That leaves the HTC One (M8), Motorola Moto G and Samsung Galaxy S 4 as the lone GPe devices, though the Galaxy S 4 is currently out of stock.
The One (M7) has been around a while and been replaced by the One (M8), so it’s not a shock to see the One (M7) disappear. It’s interesting to see the G Pad 8.3 and Z Ultra get yanked, though, especially since they’ve only been available since the end of 2013. Perhaps they weren’t big sellers?
It’s worth noting that we’re still waiting for the rumored Galaxy S5 Google Play edition to show up. Now that Google has done some Play Store housecleaning and listed the Galaxy S 4 GPe as being out of stock, maybe we’ll finally see the GS5 GPe soon.
