Apparently making one big Un-carrier move today just wasn’t enough for T-Mobile. Right after its announcement of the Un-carrier 5.0 iPhone 5s Test Drive, T-Mobile has revealed its Un-carrier 6.0 move.
T-Mobile’s Un-carrier 6.0 effort is also known as “Music Freedom.” As the name implies, T-Mobile's Simple Choice customers will be allowed to stream music from a select number of services without that data counting against their monthly allotment.
So which services are included with Music Freedom? Pandora, iHeartRadio, iTunes Radio, Rhapsody, Slacker, Spotify, Samsung Milk Music and the upcoming Beatport app are all included with Music Freedom.
T-Mobile has also announced a new music streaming service dubbed “unRadio.” The service is a result of T-Mobile’s partnership with Rhapsody, and it includes the former company’s entire 20 million track music library as well as radio stations. Streaming unRadio won’t count against your data allowance, and there are unlimited skips, offline download options and no ads.
T-Mobile unRadio will be available starting June 23 and will be free of charge to Simple Choice customers with an unlimited data plan and an iOS or Android device. If you’re a T-Mo customer that’s not enrolled in a Simple Choice plan with unlimited data, you can still access unRadio at a rate of $4 per month.
Oh, and just in case this double dose of Un-carrier isn’t enough for you, T-Mobile says that Un-carrier 7.0 is coming in the “late summer,” so it won’t be long before John Legere and Co. have some more big news to share.
