As part of its HD Voice announcement last week, AT&T reiterated its plans to offer the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, the first device that’ll officially be compatible with its new HD Voice network. Now AT&T has shed a bit more light on its launch plans for the S4 mini itself.
AT&T today announced that it’ll begin selling the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini on May 23, the same day that its HD Voice network will go live. Pricing for the device will be set at $49.99 with a two-year agreement, $14.24 per month with AT&T Next 18 or $18.50 per month with AT&T Next 12.
AT&T’s version of the Galaxy S4 mini will be similar to the international model that debuted last year. The device will sport a 4.3-inch 960x540 Super AMOLED display, 8-megapixel rear and 1.9-megapixel front cameras, a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 16GB of built-in storage, NFC and a 1900mAh battery. As I mentioned before, the AT&T Galaxy S4 mini will also support HD Voice, which offers clearer conversations and reduced background noise.
While the Galaxy S4 mini has certainly taken its sweet time to finally hit AT&T’s shelves, it’s nice to see that its debut is finally near. That’s because we’ve been hearing about AT&T’s plans to offer HD Voice for some time now, but later this week that launch will take place at last.
