Samsung Galaxy S5 zoom spec list reportedly leaks out

Hot on the heels of the first leaked image of the Galaxy S5 zoom, a list of spec details for Samsung’s upcoming camera phone have surfaced.

A new report from SamMobile claims to have a full rundown of the Galaxy S5 zoom’s spec list, which reportedly includes a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display and an Exynos 5 Hexa (5260) processor with two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores. Also said to be packing into the S5 zoom’s frame is 2GB of RAM, a microSD slot, NFC and Android 4.4.2.

Of course, since the Galaxy S5 zoom is all about camera performance, the rear shooter is perhaps the phone’s most important component. Samsung has allegedly selected a 20.2-megapixel sensor for the S5 zoom and paired it with optical image stabilization tech, a Xenon flash and a 10x optical zoom lens. The camera on the front of the S5 zoom is said to be of the 2.1-megapixel variety.

For those of you that care about benchmarks, today’s report also includes some results for you to pore over. The S5 zoom reportedly scored 33,252 points in the AnTuTu benchmark, beating out the Galaxy S 4 and HTC One (M7).

While the Galaxy S5 zoom described in today’s report isn’t exactly bleeding edge, it’s a definite improvement over last year’s model. Obviously we’ll have to wait until we can put the S5 zoom’s 20.2-megapixel shooter through the paces before making any final judgments, but with all of the camera goodies that Samsung has packed into this device, it may be worth keeping in mind if you’re a smartphone user that loves to snap photos with your device.
