Samsung’s new ATIV SE for Verizon may not be running the new Windows Phone 8.1 update, but according to a new rumor, the company’s got another ATIV in the pipeline that is running Microsoft’s latest mobile software.
SamMobile claims that Samsung is prepping a new Windows Phone device known as the “ATIV Core” that will be its first Windows Phone 8.1 hardware. The ATIV Core is expected to feature a 4.5-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, a 2,100mAh battery and either an 8 or 13-megapixel rear camera.
We’re still missing a few of the ATIV Core’s important spec details, including its processor type, but so far the device is shaping up to be a mid-range affair. Still, it’s good to see Samsung continuing to put Windows Phone hardware on shelves, and I’m sure that Microsoft feels the same way.
