Latest Sony leaks include lengthy D6503 'Sirius' video demo, Xperia Z2 tablet specs [UPDATED]

Apparently Sony's having a hard time keeping its upcoming hardware under wraps. Following several recent leaks that've shown off the upcoming D6503 "Sirius" and Xperia G smartphones, today more details on unannounced Sony products have been revealed.

First up is the D6503 Sirius. A new video showing the expected Xperia Z1 successor has been posted to YouTube by Rimas Flyil, the same person that shared a previous Sirius video walkthrough. This may not be the first time that we've seen the Sirius on video, but it's definitely the longest clip of the unannounced handset to date, giving us a walkthrough of its hardware and software.

On the hardware side of things, the video shows off all of the sides of the D6503 Sirius and its various ports and buttons. Those include a microSD card slot, dedicated camera key and magnetic charging port. The Sirius features an OmniBalance design that's similar to the one used on the Xperia Z1 and Sony's other recent Xperia flagships.

The software loaded onto this particular D6503 Sirius unit is Android 4.4 paired with Sony's custom user interface. The video shows off several of the features that've been added by Sony, such as a Smart Call Handling option that lets the user answer a call by putting the phone up to his or her ear or reject it by shaking the phone. There's also an option to select which apps can send notifications, double-tap to wake, Glove Mode, a Simple Home launcher and Smart Backlight Control, which will keep the phone's screen on while it detects that you're looking at it. The Sirius's support for 4K video capture is demonstrated as well.

Today's second Sony leak comes to us from @evleaks, who has shared what are allegedly the spec details for the next Xperia tablet. Referred to as the "Xperia Z2 tablet," the upcoming slab is expected to feature a 10.1-inch 1920x1080 Triluminos display and 2-megapixel camera on its face, as well as an 8-megapixel shooter on its backside.

Inside of the new tablet will reportedly be a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, microSD slot and a 6000mAh battery, all packed into a waterproof frame that measures 6.4mm thick. The new Xperia tablet is rumored to be coming to market with Android 4.4 preinstalled.

Should these leaks hold true, Sony's new D6503 Sirius and Xperia Z2 tablet sound like they'll be respectable follow-ups to their Xperia Z1 and Xperia Tablet Z predecessors. There doesn't seem to be anything crazy revolutionary about them, but with high-end specs and Android 4.4 KitKat, they should be able to hold their own in the flagship smartphone and tablet fights of 2014. Now we just need to figure out when these things will actually be launching so that we can give 'em a spin for ourselves. Good thing that Mobile World Congress is just one week away.

UPDATE: Following his leak of the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet's spec list, @evleaks has shared an image of the device itself. There aren't a ton of details that we can take away from the image, but we can see that it'll sport Android 4.4 KitKat's transparent navigation button area. Check the image out for yourself down below.
