AT&T announces $100 add-a-line promo, 4G LTE network expansion

AT&T's got some big news to share this morning, announcing that not only is it kicking off a new $100 credit offer for new lines, but that it's also expanding the footprint of its 4G LTE network.

First up, AT&T is now offering a $100 bill credit to all new and existing customers that add a line of service to their account. Smartphones, feature phones, tablets, mobile hotspots and Wireless Home Phone devices are all eligible, but a customer must sign up for postpaid service such as AT&T Next or a two-year contract. The account must then be in good standing for 45 days. Once those requirements are met, AT&T will apply the $100 bill credit within three billing cycles. The $100 credit promo ends March 31.

AT&T also announced today that its LTE service is now live in some new markets and that it has expanded in some existing locales. The list of new AT&T LTE coverage is as follows:

New markets

  • Talladega-Sylacauga, Ala.
  • Michigan City-La Porte, Ind.
  • Albert Lea, Minn.
  • West Plains, Mo.
  • Southern Pines-Pinehurst, N.C.
  • Grand Forks, N.D.
  • Steubenville, Ohio
  • Weirton, W.Va.

Expanded markets

  • Visalia, Porterville and Hanford, Calif.
  • Plainview, Texas
