The LG G Flex is finally making its way onto U.S. soil. Sprint announced today that it plans to launch the G Flex on Friday, Jan. 31, at a price of $299.99 with a two-year commitment. Customers can also pick up a G Flex using Sprint's new Easy Pay upgrade program for a down payment of $149.99, 23 monthly payments of $20.84 and one final payment of $20.68.
The curvy G Flex will initially only be available online and through telesales, with in-store availability planned for Feb. 7. Sprint customers that are entranced by the G Flex's curve and want to guarantee themselves a unit can pre-order one right now, and Sprint says that subscribers that take advantage of the online pre-order will receive a free Quickwindow Folio case with their unit.
Sprint's version of the LG G Flex is mostly similar to the international model that launched last year, meaning that Now Network customers are getting a device with a curved 6-inch 720p display, 2.26GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front cameras, 32GB storage and a 3500mAh battery. One feature that's unique to Sprint's G Flex is support for its Spark LTE service, which is currently available in 11 U.S. cities. Sprint's Spark service utilizes the carrier's three LTE bands to offer higher speeds and better coverage than it's plain ol' LTE network.
We don't often see manufacturers launch their unique smartphone hardware in the U.S., so it's good to see LG bringing the G Flex stateside. The Sprint flavor certainly isn't cheap, but its price tag also isn't a huge shock considering the cost of the international model as well as the high-end hardware that's included with it.
