Much of the mobile world may be focused on Berlin and IFA 2013 right now, but that doesn't mean that there's nothing exciting going on in the U.S. AT&T announced today that it's expanded its 4G LTE network once again, lighting up several markets with new coverage and expanding existing service in a couple more. Here's the list of locales that've been announced:
New markets
- Vidalia, Ga.
- Waycross, Ga.
- Murray, Ky.
- Alexandria, La.
- Columbus, Miss.
- Yazoo City, Miss.
- Rolla, Mo.
- Albemarle, N.C.
- Greenville, N.C.
- Morehead City, N.C.
- Sandusky, Ohio
- Morristown, Tenn. (includes parts of Hamblen, Greene, and Jefferson Counties)
- Abilene, Texas
- Logan, Utah
Expanded markets
- Sacramento, Calif. (now includes portions of El Dorado Hills, Esparto, and Rancho Murrieta)
- Sussex County, N.J. (now includes Newton, Sparta, Andover, Fredon, and Lafayette)
Looks like another nice list of markets, no? It's also worth noting that when you add this week's 14 new markets to the 383 total that AT&T hit with its last expansion, the big blue carrier is now pretty close to reaching its goal of having 400 LTE markets by the end of 2013. It's not clear exactly when AT&T will actually cross that line, but at the rate that it's been rolling out new LTE coverage lately, the milestone likely isn't too far off.
