Verizon's Share Everything plans have now been available for a little over a year, offering monthly data allotment options as high as 20GB and as low as 1GB. That 1GB bucket may not sound like much to some smartphone addicts, but for light data users or those folks that are constantly near a Wi-Fi connection, even 1GB may be too much. Today Verizon is accommodating those folks that just nibble on megabytes by adding an even smaller Share Everything plan.
The latest addition to Verizon's Share Everything lineup is a 500MB plan that will set consumers back $40 per month. As with the other Share Everything rate plans, the new 500MB option includes unlimited talk and text. Customers can add a smartphone or basic phone to the plan for $40 or $30 per month, respectively. Consumers that'd like to add a mobile hotspot, tablet or connected device to the plan can expect a monthly line access charge of $20, $10 or $5 each.
This new plan is obviously targeted at those super-light data users that I mentioned before. Verizon (and all of the other carriers) still require some sort of data plan with a smartphone, and so this 500MB option gives a new, cheaper plan to those consumers that want a smartphone but don't burn through much cellular data. Verizon's new 500MB Share Everything plan is now available.
