BlackBerry A10 shown off in clear photos and video, BlackBerry 9720 video also surfaces

Hot on the heels of a leak that contained a few photos of the upcoming BlackBerry A10 in the wild, a new report has come along to blow the previous one away with a cornucopia of shots that show the AT&T-branded A10 in all its glory, as well as a hands-on video comparing the device with the BlackBerry Z10. Posted by Vietnamese site Tinh te, this latest leak provides a pretty thorough look at the unannounced BlackBerry and even contains a few rumored spec details:

  • 5-inch 1280x720 AMOLED display
  • 1.7GHz dual-core processor
  • 8-megapixel rear, 2-megapixel front cameras
  • 16GB storage
  • 2GB RAM
  • 2,800mAh battery
  • 9.4mm thick
  • BlackBerry 10.2 OS

If physical buttons are more your thing, the folks at BlackBerry Ukraine have shared a couple of videos of the BlackBerry 9720 in action. This device is powered by BlackBerry 7.1, but it appears that BlackBerry has taken the time to make some improvements to its older operating system rather than just slapping it onto the 9720 and calling it a day. Those tweaks include a new lock screen, complete with camera shortcut, as well as a new sharing menu.

BlackBerry recently revealed that it plans to release a new BlackBerry 7.1-powered smartphone, and its expected that the 9720 is that model. The device features a 480x360 display, dedicated BBM button on its side, and physical keyboard on its face. That may not sound terribly impressive compared to current BlackBerry 10 hardware like the Q10, but it's likely that the 9720 is intended to be an affordable new handset for customers in developing markets that may not be able to afford a high-end BB10 unit. Video of the 9720 in action is available below.
