Moto X backplates purportedly leak out in green, purple and more

Well, that didn't take long. Shortly after details of Motorola's Moto X customization process leaked out, images that claim to show some of the color options that will be available to buyers have made their way online. Posted by French site Nowhereelse.fr, the image shows teal, green, pink and purple backplates with Motorola branding. The source of the photo claims that there will be 16 different color options to choose from, including blue, red, green, pink and purple.

While there's currently no official confirmation that these backplates do indeed belong to the Moto X (and it's unlikely that we'll be getting any), they do line up with a previous Moto X leak as well as an FCC filing for a device thought to be the Moto X. All three backsides feature a round camera lens with a flash beneath it, and the FCC sketch also included a speaker grille to the right of the camera and a circle beneath the flash for the Motorola logo.

The backplates shown in this photo may be a tad bright for some, but I'm betting that Motorola will have some darker, more muted color options as well. If these recent Moto X leaks are accurate, it sounds like customization process won't be as deep as I'm sure that some folks were hoping for, but it should still allow buyers to create a custom unit that will fit their style. If you could choose any color for your own Moto X, which would you select?
