Verizon says Nokia Lumia 928, BlackBerry Q10 and select other devices will also support AWS LTE

Following yesterday's news that the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will gain support for Verizon's AWS LTE service through a software update, the big red carrier has come forward to confirm that a handful of other devices will also be able to utilize the AWS spectrum. Verizon has told LaptopMag that in addition to the Galaxy S 4, the Nokia Lumia 928 and BlackBerry Q10 will support its AWS spectrum as will two 10-inch Samsung tablets, two Jetpack mobile hotspots and one USB modem.

Verizon has been picked up AWS spectrum from several other companies, and the carrier says that work on deploying the spectrum in for use with its LTE network is already underway. The AWS spectrum will enable Verizon to increase the capacity of its LTE network in the areas where the AWS airwaves will be utilized, which will be important as more and more customers hop onto Verizon's LTE service.

Looking forward, Verizon says that "most" of its LTE-enabled products will feature support for its AWS spectrum. For any Verizon customers that'd like to try and future-proof themselves a bit, though, the Galaxy S 4, Lumia 928 and Q10 appear to be the smartphones to check out.
