What’s in my pocket? What’s in my pocket? Prepare yourselves, PhoneDoggers, because I’m about to tell you all about the magnificence of the phone that I currently carry with me on a day-to-day basis. You might have heard of it – it’s a little phone I like to call the iPhone 4…S.
Some people ask me why I still carry an iPhone 4S; after all, it is a phone that’s coming up on two years of age. But whenever somebody asks me that, I just hold down my home button and I hold my phone up to the inquisitor’s face and ask them to repeat the question. Don’t ask me, I say. Ask Siri. Many people don’t know this, but before I made my final decision to buy my beloved iPhone was totally dependent on a response from the iPhone itself. I decided to ask Siri what the best phone in the world is. Her response?
“Wait… there are other phones?”
And all of a sudden it hit me. She was absolutely right, there weren’t any other phones. Nothing else mattered at that moment but me and this iPhone. Its dual-core processor, 8 MP camera, and super intelligent virtual assistant who practically knew all the answers to life was all that mattered now. “Slide to unlock” meant more than just my gateway to the main menu – I was unlocking my life with this phone. To make a long story short, the reason I got my iPhone 4S is because there weren’t any other phones. I know this for a fact because Siri told me so.
All joking aside, I actually got the iPhone to learn about it when I worked at Sprint. After having it for a couple of weeks I really liked how easy and simple the interface was. It was a nice change from always feeling like I had to customize (and then re-customize) my Android device. iOS has proven to be a lot more reliable than Android ever was for me in respects to proper response times, no force closes, and even battery life. However, after having the device for about a year and a half now I’m simply waiting for my upgrade date to arrive before switching my main device because I’m too cheap to pay full price for a smartphone; that’s the real reason why I still carry an iPhone 4S in my pocket.
