Looks like AT&T is really in the mood to spread its 4G LTE love this week. Just a couple of days after expanding its LTE service to five new markets, AT&T announced this morning that the network is now live in another handful of cities. The towns that are waking up to a fresh cup of AT&T LTE coverage this morning are:
New markets
- Monroeville and Evergreen, Ala.
- Ashland, Ky.
- Frankfort, Ky.
- Saginaw and Bay City, Mich.
- Vieques, Puerto Rico
- Cookeville, Tenn.
- McMinnville, Tenn.
- Beeville, Texas
- Aberdeen, Wash. (also includes Hoquiam, Ocean City and Ocean Shores)
- Huntington, W.Va.
Expanded markets
- San Antonio, Texas (now includes La Vernia, Floresville, Stockdale, Pettus, Skidmore, and Port Lavaca)
It's always good to see LTE service rolling out to new markets, and I'm sure that the residents of San Antonio are glad to be getting some expanded AT&T LTE coverage as well. Back in April, AT&T revealed a large list of cities that it planned to roll its LTE network out to during the summer, and since then the big blue carrier has been steadily expanding its coverage and crossing towns off of that list. Exactly which cities from that group will be next to gain LTE service is a mystery, but we'll be sure to give you a shout once we hear more. Stay tuned.
