AT&T BlackBerry Z10 launching on March 22 for $199.99, pre-orders kick off March 12

The U.S. release details of the BlackBerry Z10 are starting to trickle in, as AT&T this morning announced its launch plans for the new BlackBerry 10 smartphone. AT&T will begin offering the BlackBerry Z10 on March 22 for $199.99 with a two-year contract. Any customers on the big blue operator that'd like to guarantee themselves a Z10 can pre-order one starting tomorrow, March 12.

As a quick refresher, the BlackBerry Z10 features a 4.2-inch 1280x768 touchscreen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, 16GB storage, microSD card slot and an 1,800mAh battery. It also packs 4G LTE connectivity, and AT&T points out that the Z10 is actually the first BlackBerry smartphone that'll run on its LTE network.

The BlackBerry Z10 was first unveiled at the end of January and launched in places like Canada and the U.K. shortly thereafter. Considering that, I'm sure that there are many 'Berry addicts here in the U.S. that are eager to get their mitts on the first BlackBerry 10-powered smartphone, and those folks that are on AT&T don't have much longer to wait. T-Mobile and Verizon are also likely launching their own Z10 variants soon, with T-Mobile promising that its consumer Z10 launch will come before the end of March.

So, AT&T customers, now that we know exactly when your Z10 variant will be hitting store shelves, how many of you are planning on plunking down $200 for your very own unit once March 22?
