Samsung Galaxy Stellar Jelly Bean update documents posted by Verizon [UPDATED]

Looks like this fine Friday afternoon just got quite a bit better for Samsung Galaxy Stellar owners on Verizon. The big red carrier has revealed that the Galaxy Stellar will soon be receiving an update to Android 4.1, complete with the usual Jelly Bean goodies like Google Now and actionable notifications. Also included in the update is support for 64GB microSD cards, Verizon's Remote Diagnostics app for Jelly Bean and the removal of the Verizon app store. The full changelog for the i200VRALG4 update can be found at the bottom of this post.

Owners of the Galaxy Stellar should note that this Jelly Bean update weighs in at a whopping 403.6MB, so it may take some time to download and install. Once it's all done and the update dust settles, though, you'll be running Android 4.1 and will be able to use Google Now until the cows come home.

The Galaxy Stellar isn't exactly the most high-end Android phone on Verizon's roster, but it's good to see Samsung and Verizon bumping the Stellar up to Jelly Bean rather than leaving it on Ice Cream Sandwich for the rest of its life. While there's no word yet on exactly when this update will start rolling out, it usually doesn't take long for the push to begin after Verizon posts its support docs, so you Galaxy Stellar owners should keep an eye out for the notification.

UPDATE: Verizon has officially announced the update, revealing that it'll begin rolling out in phases on March 4.
