Google Now widget appears on Nexus support pages

Android users on Jelly Bean have been enjoying Google Now for several months now, with the app and its personalized information cards just a swipe (or in some cases, button hold) away. It looks like Google Now could get even easier to access at some point in the future, though, as references to a Google Now widget have been found on Google's websiteDiscovered by Android Central, some Google support pages include a section titled "Use the Google Now widget" that explains that the widget can display a summary of a user's Google Now cards either on the Home screen or lock screen. Touching the widget will take a user to see the detailed information in Google Now.

While accessing Google Now isn't a terribly difficult task, the ability to place a widget with the Google Now cards on a Home or lock screen is one feature that I'm sure many an Android fan would like to have. The appearance of the "Use the Google Now widget" in these support documents seems to suggest that that feature is indeed on the way, but unfortunately for those widget-loving Android folk, it's not clear exactly when the Google Now widget will be made available. At least we've got the tiny image above to ogle until Google feels like opening up a bit more. A screenshot of the entire "Use the Google Now widget" support section can be found below.
