Samsung Galaxy Note II continues winning

In week 48 of PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™, marking the tenth consecutive week, the Samsung Galaxy Note II was once again the #1 smartphone in both the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Experts' Chart. It seems as though nothing can touch the Galaxy Note II. However, many flagship devices are right around the corner. Does the Samsung Galaxy Note II have what it takes to remain #1?

MT PLEASANT, SC – For 48 weeks and counting, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has become the gold standard for ranking the market's greatest smartphones by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts each week. Last week, the Samsung Galaxy Note II dominated both the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Experts' Chart. It led by a margin of 12 points for the experts and it received more than twice the votes as the #2 phone in the people's chart.

Holding second place firmly for quite some time in the People's Choice Chart has been the Nokia Lumia 920. In week 48, there was an unexpected turn of events. The aging Samsung Galaxy S III caught its second wind and tied the Nokia Lumia 920 for second place. The Google Nexus 4 took the #4 position, trailing by just 14 votes. In the Mobile Tech Experts' Chart, the Apple iPhone 5 broke the previous week's tie, mustering 38 expert points versus the Samsung Galaxy S III's 30 points. With 23 points, the HTC DROID DNA dropped from third place to fifth, and with 24 points, the Nexus 4 jumped up one position to the #4 spot.

“The second place tie on PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings shows that the Nokia’s Lumia brand has mindshare amongst the Galaxy heavyweights," said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
