T-Mobile confirmed earlier this month at CES that its 4G LTE network would be launching in Las Vegas soon, and now we know which city will be next in line to receive Magenta LTE. T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray recently revealed to FierceWireless that his carrier's LTE service will be going live in Kansas City shortly after it launches in Las Vegas. Those are the same two cities that first saw T-Mobile's 1900MHz HSPA+ coverage last year, and Ray teased that T-Mobile's LTE rollout will follow the same path as its 1900MHz HSPA+ push. After T-Mo's 1900MHz HSPA+ coverage went live in K.C. last year, the Baltimore, Houston and Washington D.C. markets were next in line to get it.
Of course, T-Mobile has yet to officially launch its LTE network in Las Vegas, which will be the first city to gain the service. FierceWireless says that T-Mobile was hoping to launch its LTE network at CES, but it ended up being unable to do so due to some last-minute issues that needed to be addressed. The carrier said in early January that it'd only be "another week or two" before its LTE service was ready for action, though, so it shouldn't be long before the airwaves of Las Vegas are filled with T-Mo LTE. That's exciting news for T-Mobile and its customers since it was nearly a year ago that the magenta operator first announced its LTE rollout plans. Once the service goes live, all four major U.S. operators will have active LTE networks.
