Verizon return window extended for purchases made through December 25

Thinking about picking up a shiny new Verizon handset for the holidays, like one from Taylor's list of the top five smartphones on the big red carrier? If so, you'll have some extra time to decide if the phone that you've plunked down cash for is indeed the one that you want to commit two years of your mobile life to. Verizon has revealed on one of its support pages that any purchases made between November 22 and December 25 can be returned or exchanged up until January 15, 2013. Verizon does note that the rest of its usual return/exchange policies will still be in effect, though, so you may still need to pony up for a restocking fee.

Verizon's normal return window is just 14 days, so this is a pretty sizable extension, especially considering that it actually started before Thanksgiving kicked off. With several holiday sales in effect, it's as tempting a time as ever to pick up a new device, and now you've got the holidays as well as New Year's Eve and Day to give that expensive gadget a trial run. Have any of you picked up a new handset recently? If not, are you thinking about snagging one soon?
