Wondering whether or not your shiny new Samsung Galaxy device will be able to withstand thousands home button presses or repeated uses as a cushion for your backside? Wonder no more, as Samsung today posted a video demonstrating the different ways that it stress tests devices like the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II. The clip shows those two handsets being subjected to a number of different experiments, including machines that presses a Note II's home button thousands of times, a jeans-clad robotic rear end (never thought that I'd write that) that repeatedly sits on a Note II and a machine that simulates rain falling on the phone/tablet hybrid. Also shown is an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro being sprayed with water from a hose.
Considering that many folks hold on to their smartphone for the full length of the two-year contract that they signed to get a discount on said handset, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the devices that Samsung ships out do end up going through experiences like the ones in these stress tests. While no phone will be able to withstand every single thing that's thrown at it, at least folks with a Galaxy device know the lengths that Samsung has gone to to test their products with every day issues, including being accidentally sat on by a robotic posterior.
