Motorola announces Test Drive program to allow users to try out major updates

The Motorola DROID RAZR M's Jelly Bean update isn't the only big Moto news today, as the company has taken to the official Inside Motorola blog to announce its new Test Drive program. Test Drive will allow users to preview "major software upgrades" before they're officially released to the public and share feedback on them with Motorola. The program will be kicking off with Android 4.2, and Motorola says that it plans to offer previews of its new software to "a few hundred consumers." More information on the Test Drive program and how interested users can sign up will be shared soon.

Motorola has long been "soak testing" its pre-release updates with members of its online community before releasing them to the public, and this Test Drive program seems a bit like a more public version of that. Still, it's good to hear that Moto is willing to give its major updates out to users to try out before release, and I'm sure that there are a number of users that'll sign up for Test Drive once Morotola opens up registration. There are still several details about Test Drive that are up in the air, but if you're a Motorola device owner that always needs the latest and greatest software, this program may be something to keep an eye on. More as we get it.
