Samsung brand refresh rumored for CES 2013 in January

Samsung's been keeping itself pretty busy in the second half of 2012, launching both the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II on multiple carriers and creating the Nexus 10 tablet for Google, and a new report has claimed that the company won't be taking a rest once the calendar flips over to 2013. According to ChannelNews, Samsung Electronics is planning a major brand refresh to CES 2013 in January. The sources in Asia that passed along this information claim that Samsung will be ditching its blue logo in favor of an "all new product marketing linked via their own individual colours that are part of an overall brand family." A Samsung tipster reportedly said that senior employees have been told to hold off on getting new business cards until January.

The blue Samsung logo has been in use for quite a while, but it's said that this refresh is meant to help give the Korean firm "a more vibrant International brand image," and another source added that Samsung will begin advertising its products by linking them with "lifestyle activities similar to what Nike does." The person that's reportedly heading up the work on Samsung's new look is Scott Bedbury, who has worked with both Nike and Starbucks in the past. There's not a ton of information about this purported brand revamp just yet, but if it holds true, it'll be interesting to see what Bedbury and Samsung can cook up together. Stay tuned, because it'll be January before you know it.
