Samsung Galaxy Note heading to T-Mobile on August 8 for $249.99

After numerous leaks and rumors, T-Mobile earlier this month finally confirmed that it plans to release the Samsung Galaxy Note. The problem is that Magenta didn't mention exactly when it intends to launch the device and its 5.3-inch display. That's changing today, though, as T-Mobile has finally come clean with both the release date and pricing for its version of the Galaxy Note. The S Pen-toting smartphone is expected to hit select T-Mobile retail stores and the T-Mobile website on August 8.

When it comes to pricing for T-Mo's Galaxy Note, Classic Plan customers will be set at $249.99 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate. Value Plan folk will need to pony up $199.99 for a down payment and then $20 per month for 20 months for the Equipment Installment Plan.

For those that'd like a refresher, the Galaxy Note features a 5.3-inch 1280x800 HD Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 processor, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, 16GB storage, Android 4.0 beneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI and 42Mbps HSPA+ support. The Galaxy Note may not be the freshest smartphone on the block, but it's that 5.3-inch display should still appeal to folks looking for the biggest smartphone that they can fit their mitts around. Plus, support for T-Mobile's 42Mbps HSPA+ network is a welcome addition. So now that T-Mobile has finally spilled the 5.3-inch beans on its Galaxy Note, who's planning on buying?
