Been thinking about taking advantage of Verizon's double 4G LTE data promotion that kicked off earlier this year? You'd better make a decision soon, as a leaked image sent to Droid-Life shows that the "Twice the Data" deal will be ending tomorrow, June 5. The promo began in early February, meaning that it will have run for around four months if this leak is accurate.
Speaking of Verizon and data plans, the carrier has touched on the situation regarding Galaxy S III pre-orders and customers with unlimited data plans. There was a note in Verizon's Galaxy S III announcement earlier today that mentioned that "customers that purchase a Galaxy S III will need to subscribe to a 4G LTE mobile broadband data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data," leading some to worry that the GSIII required a tiered plan. However, Verizon explains that existing unlimited customers that pre-order the Galaxy S III can keep their bottomless data pack, meaning that only new customers and add-a-lines will need to sign up for a tiered data plan.
Getting back to Verizon's double 4G data promo, it's kind of a bummer to see that the deal may soon be disappearing again. For the unaware, it offers new customers or users upgrading from a 3G handset double the amount of data than they'd normally have each month. So if a subscriber signs up for the 2GB/$30 per month plan, they'll actually receive 4GB of data each month for $30. Not a bad deal, especially after Verizon killed off its unlimited data option last year. Obviously the information about it ending hasn't been made officially official by the folks at Verizon, but if doubling your monthly data allotment sounds like something you'd like to do, it probably wouldn't hurt to mosey on into your local Verizon store tomorrow to take advantage of the promo, just to be safe.
