Take note, Sprint and Verizon customers: a couple of handsets that you may be interested in recently took a stroll through the FCC. Listings for both the Samsung SPH-L710 and SCH-I535 have been spotted in the FCC, and if previous reports are accurate, those two handsets are Sprint and Verizon's variants of the Galaxy S III. There aren't really many hard details about either device to be found in the reports, both they do show that both models contain CDMA/EV-DO support as well as LTE connectivity (Sprint's SPH-L710 on Band 25, Verizon's SCH-I535 on Band 13). Verizon's model is also listed as having GSM/EDGE 850/1900MHz support, suggesting that global roaming capabilities will be a part of the phone's feature set.
As usual, it's worth noting that just because a phone has made an appearance in the FCC doesn't necessarily mean that it's close to launch. What it does mean is that it's at least one step closer to hitting shelves, and for Sprint and Verizon folk that are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Samsung's latest on their respective carrier, that's something to get excited about. Samsung still hasn't said exactly when the Galaxy S III will begin hitting U.S. carriers (or even which operators will offer it), but T-Mobile's variant is rumored to be landing as soon as June 20, so it may not be much longer before we hear more.
