Computex 2012 is now underway in Taipei, and Acer has opted to kick things off with a pair of new Windows 8 tablets. The first of the pair is the Acer Iconia W510, which features a 10.1-inch IPS display. The W510 features support for a detachable keyboard dock that Acer says will extend the battery life of the tablet up to 18 hours, and the slate can also be rotated 295 degrees to be used in "presentation mode." Other details on the W510 are still light, but according to The Verge, it'll be priced at $799 when it debuts.

The second slate unveiled by Acer today is the Iconia W700. This is the bigger of the pair of new tablets, featuring an 11.6-inch full HD touchscreen with multitouch support for up to 10 fingers as well as Dolby Home Theater audio and a trio of USB 3.0 ports. The W700 also comes with a cradle that allows the tablet to be placed at a 70 degree angle for viewing or a 20 degree angle for easier touching. Like the W510, there's not much more information on the W700 available right now. However, The Verge claims that the W700 will be priced at $999 and will also have an optional keyboard available.

Obviously there's still quite a bit we don't know about the Iconia W510 and W700, but both tablets have some nice-looking designs, and it'll be interesting to learn what else they have under the hood. We'll pass along more details as we get them. Until then, you can find Acer's announcement of the Iconia W510 and W700 below. How many of you are interested in checking out a Windows 8 tablet?

Acer's W700 comes with a multipurpose cradle that allows for several viewing options. When using it in landscape, it can be tilted up to 70 degrees for better viewing, or 20 degrees for convenient touch. Furthermore, it can be used vertically like a portrait for easy browsing and reading. The W700 also has three USB 3.0 ports for expansion.
