Entry for "Google Asus Nexus 7" appears on benchmarking site

Whispers of a 7-inch Nexus tablet from ASUS and Google have been floating around for a while, but now some new information has surfaced that (potentially) gives the rumors a bit more weight. A listing for a "Google Asus Nexus 7" have been spotted on benchmarking site Rightware, complete with some potential specs. The entry pegs the device as having a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor as well as a screen resolution of 768x1280, and the "7" in the name suggests that the display might measure 7 inches in size. Additionally, it's listed as having the JRN51B build of Android 4.1, where the "J" in the build designation likely stands for Jelly Bean. It's also worth noting that this device's codename is "grouper," which lines up with Google's habit of fishy Nexus names (Nexus S is "crespo" and XOOM is "stingray" and "wingray").

The specs mentioned in this benchmark line up with the few details of the Nexus tablet that've leaked out so far, which include a 7-inch display and quad-core Tegra 3 processor. Of course, nothing is confirmed about this mystery slate just yet, and it'll likely stay that way until Google makes it official. The good news is that with a debut rumored to be coming as soon as Google I/O next month, we may not have to wait long for an announcement. What do you all make of the Nexus tablet as it's described above? Sound like something you'd be interested in adding to your gadget utility belt?
