Time for a little weekend mystery! A trio of Samsung smartphones were recently spotted gaining certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance, but as with other Wi-Fi certifications that we've seen in the past, the documentation doesn't contain any mention of exactly what the names of these handsets are. The good news is that we're not completely in the dark about the three phones, as the listings do give us the model numbers of each device: SGH-T999, SGH-I515 and SPH-L710.
So which phones are we looking at here? Well, the model numbers can give us a bit of insight as to which carriers the handsets may be headed for. For example, Samsung devices that feature the "SGH-TXX9" identifier are typically T-Mobile-bound, like the Galaxy S II (SGH-T989) and the Exhibit II 4G (SGH-T679). Last month our friends at TmoNews suggested that the T999 may be the Galaxy S Blaze 4G, but whether or not that's truly the case remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the SGH-I535 could be headed to AT&T, as the model numbers of devices on that carrier often begin with "SGH-I" (like the SGH-I717 Galaxy Note). Then there's the SPH-L710. Samsung's smartphones on Sprint generally feature the "SPH" prefix on their model number, meaning that the SPH-L710 may eventually land on the Now Network.
As for what the exact identities of these three devices are, well, we'll likely have to wait until they're made officially official before knowing for certain.
