Yesterday a rumor claimed that the Motorola DROID 4 may finally be landing on Verizon store shelves a week from today, but a new image that's surfaced this morning has shown that that report may have been a day off. A screenshot from Verizon's internal equipment guide sent to the folks at Droid-Life lists the DROID 4 has launching in all channels on February 10th, aka next Friday. There's no mention of any pricing information to be found in the image.
Interested in a reminder on just what makes the DROID 4 tick? The 4G LTE slider packs a 4-inch 960x540 display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage and a five-row LED edge-lit QWERTY keyboard. Also on board is Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but Verizon has promised that an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is in the cards. The DROID 4 should make for a nice addition to Verizon's LTE lineup whenever it ends up launching, especially considering that the only 4G smartphone with a physical keyboard that's currently offered by Big Red is the Samsung Stratosphere. UPDATE: A second Verizon equipment guide leak sent to Droid-Life shows that the DROID 4 will be priced at $199.99 with a two-year contract. Not a big fan of commitment? The D4 will set you back $549.99 full retail.
