See that gray rectangle up there? That's the shape of an LG-made handset that passed through the FCC today with the model number VS840. If that identifier sounds familiar, well, it should, because that's the same number that was rumored to be attached to a Verizon version of the LG Connect 4G earlier this month. The VS840's FCC filing seemingly supports the claims that we're looking at a Verizon-bound Connect 4G, as the device is listed as having support for LTE band 13, the very same band used by Verizon for its 4G connectivity. Interestingly, the VS840's label also features the letters "VRZ" in the lower right corner. You can check the label out below.
For those of you that'd like a refresher, the Connect 4G on MetroPCS features a 4-inch NOVA display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing shooter, LTE and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Sounds like a handset that'll slot nicely into Verizon's lineup next to the LG Spectrum. (And possibly be a tad cheaper than the Spectrum, too.) When exactly a launch might be happening is still a mystery, but now that the VS840 has passed the FCC, it's at least one step closer.
