Samsung Transfix for Cricket packs Android 2.3 and a physical keyboard for $179.99

Cricket has unveiled a couple of new Android phones, the ZTE Score and Samsung Vitality, in the past month or so, and today the prepaid carrier is adding another handset powered by Google's green robot to its roster. What makes this one different, you ask? Well, this one's got a physical keyboard! The device you're looking at above is dubbed the Samsung Transfix and is available now from Cricket's retail stores and its online outlet for $179.99. Specs for the Transfix include a 3.2-inch touchscreen, 800MHz processor, 3.2-megapixel camera, microSD card slot, and what looks to be a vanilla build of Android 2.3.

Although the Transfix may not boast as large a display as its Samsung-made Cricket brother, the Vitality, this new handset's hardware QWERTY keyboard is sure to sway many potential buyers into the Transfix camp. The full press release for the Transfix is available below.
