Get out your calendars, Apple fans, because we may finally know the date on which Tim Cook and Co. will unveil the iPhone 5. According to the infamous "sources close to the situation," this time speaking with All Things D, Apple is planning to hold an event on Tuesday, October 4th. As for when the iPhone 5 itself might actually launch, those same tipsters indicated Apple currently plans to launch the handset "within a few weeks" after the event.
As with all Apple rumors, it's always possible that this date could change at the last minute, so just be sure to use pencil if you're circling October 4th on your calendar. When Apple does send out invites for the event, we'll let you know so that you can begin practicing your best "fake sick" phone call to get out of work.
